Opponents of Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins are condemning the politician for allegedly raiding women’s bedrooms while wearing blackface during his time at Baylor University.
The bombshell evidence from the Waco Police Department, as reported by The Dallas Express, detailed accusations that Jenkins, along with two other men, broke into various Waco apartments.
The police report documented a witness informing police that “all three men were dressed in dark colored clothing like camouflage and had on dark oil type or paint or dark makeup on their faces to make them look like black people.”
One of the women whose bedroom was invaded allegedly by Jenkins and the others explained to the police that “while the other girls were trying to hold this door shut … The guys then ransacked the room and then left.”
Several days later, on September 29, 1983, Jenkins was arrested in relation to the blackface break-ins and held on a $1,500 bond.
In a D Magazine article from 2014, Jenkins indicated that this arrest was made for “criminal trespassing in a women’s dorm during a panty raid.” He failed to disclose that the raid had been made while wearing blackface, according to the police report.
This incident was recently brought up in a Dallas County Commissioners Court meeting by Alex Stein, a viral comedian, who brought up the D Magazine article and asked questions about said panty raid. For doing so, Stein was removed from the meeting by the police.
Upon hearing the blackface allegations, Stein told The Dallas Express, “Clay Jenkins is one of the most disgusting Dallas politicians to ever exist. The fact that he would put on blackface and trespass on a woman’s property with a plan to steal their underwear shows you what kind of moral character Judge Jenkins has, which is absolutely none.”
Stein continued, “It’s impossible to not label Clay Jenkins as a racist pervert.”
Jenkins is facing an active challenge for his seat as county judge by Lauren Davis.
Davis commented upon the incident to The Dallas Express, saying, “This was not a panty raid, he terrorized four women, ransacked an apartment, and disguised himself. He clearly does not represent the values of Dallas County. I will let his actions speak for themselves. As a Dallas County citizen, I am tired of these career politicians lying to our face and getting away with it.”
The Dallas Express reached out to Jenkins for comment, but he failed to respond prior to publication.
