Authorities announced on Friday that an overnight fire broke out at a warehouse that may have been full of packs of hand sanitizer.
At about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Fort Worth fire officials responded to multiple calls about a building that caught fire on the 2300 block of Cullen Street.
Fort Worth firefighters described that they saw fire billowing from both the outer and inner parts of the building.
The fire may have started in a dumpster and spread to the building, according to Fox 4.
The size of the fire triggered Fort Worth fire officials to request a three-alarm response to calm the blaze and restore stability to the building.
Officials stated that about 85 firefighters and 20 fire trucks worked to extinguish the fire. The Fort Worth Fire Department posted footage of the blaze on Twitter.
The fire response team eventually restrained the fire, which only caused a small portion of the building to be damaged.
According to officials, the fire only did minor damage to the building because heavy winds were blowing in the opposite direction of the dumpster.
Although the precise cause of the fire is still unknown, authorities suggested that the hand sanitizer stored in the warehouse likely acted as an accelerant.
Officials said no injuries were reported, but one firefighter was sent to the hospital for evaluation.
