A two-alarm fire injured two people and damaged a Fort Worth apartment building on Sunday morning.
When responders first arrived at The Hills at 5400 apartments located at 5400 Boca Raton Blvd., they reported heavy fire pouring from the roof of one of the complex’s buildings.
Within 10 minutes of arrival, the incident commander requested a second alarm be sounded.
More than 40 firefighters were called to the scene. It took them two hours to fight the fire, said the Fort Worth Fire Department.
Two building residents received minor injuries that were treated on-scene. Nearly two dozen other residents were safely evacuated. The American Red Cross Association assisted 21 displaced residents.
The cause of the fire was unknown, and an investigation was ongoing.
