Not that you need a reason to get donuts, but a sweet deal from one of America’s favorite donut eateries makes even the toughest trip to the gas pump easier.

Krispy Kreme is helping donut lovers “beat the pump” with a dozen “Original Glazed Doughnuts” priced at the same cost as the national average for a gallon of gas.

The “beat the pump” price will update every Tuesday, when they are posted on the Krispy Kreme website and app. The new price will be honored the following Wednesday, with the promotion continuing until Labor Day.

Customers can purchase a dozen donuts in-store or via drive-thru from participating locations by asking for the “Beat the Pump Original Glazed Dozen.” The offer can also be redeemed through the app for online pickup.

“While Americans deal with the rising PPG (price per gallon) of gasoline, we’re lowering our PPOG – price per Original Glaze,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement back in April.

He continued, “Inflation and high gasoline prices are serious and are forcing families to make tough tradeoffs. A dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for the price of a gallon of gas will help our fans make midweek a little sweeter for their friends and family.”

The promotion is limited to two dozen donuts per person.

In April, Krispy Kreme held the same promotion, dubbing it “Donut Deflation.”

Krispy Kreme determines the weekly price of its donuts according to the national average gas price, which as of August 9 was $4.03 per gallon.
