The mixture of the sun and music is a combination many now hold sacred, and Grapevine is taking advantage of in-person shows with the “Bluegrass at The Settlement” series.
The Settlement to City Museums are a collection of four 19th-century buildings containing exhibits that tell the story of Grapevine, but this summer, they are also serving as the backdrop for several live bluegrass shows.
On Saturday, August 6, the whole family can enjoy the sounds of bluegrass artist Brad “The Shredder” Davis with Joel Weaver.
Davis has played with notable names such as Tim McGraw, Marty Stuart’s road band, Earl Scruggs, Sam Bush, and Billy Bob Thornton, for whom he has also written.
The events are held near downtown Grapevine and are free to the public. Attendees can bring their chairs and coolers. Alcohol is prohibited.
Those interested in playing during this mini-fest can text 682-667-1384 for details. There will even be a jam session after the event where fellow musicians can bring their instruments and join Davis and Weaver for a song or two.
Plenty of parking is available, or attendees can park free and ride TEXRAIL from one of its convenient “Park and Ride” locations.
The bluegrass series continues with shows on September 3 and October 1, 2022. Enjoy the music from noon until 4:00 p.m., then do some shopping, visit the museums and wineries, and dine at one of the many restaurant options that Grapevine has to offer.
The Settlement to City Park and Museums are located at 206 W. Hudgins St. in Grapevine.
