The Fossil Gate Farms ranch, located in Argyle, has been listed for sale at a cool $20 million.

Just north of Dallas on Interstate 35, the 160-acre horse farm has six houses, even more barns, and an in-ground pool. Two beautiful pipe-fenced pastures run the entire length of the property on the south side of the ranch.

A 60-foot deeded strip of land also connects the ranch to Old Justin Road on the north end of the property.

The finely-manicured horse ranch was owned by Linda Gordon, a longtime quarter-horse breeder who passed away in December.

Ms. Gordon and her husband Gary, who passed away in 2018, raised dozens of champion halter horses at Fossil Gate.

The current owners have raised world-class Halter Horses for the past 30+ years and “spared no expense on the facility.” Fossil Gate Farms has offered breeding services such as embryo transfers and ICSI services along with having a full-service laboratory at their full-service, state-of-the-art facility.

Included with the ranch are several barns: one for studs, two for mares, two with stalls for mares and/or colts, one with a covered arena for shows, one for equipment, and one for shavings.

The six houses on the property range in size from 600 square feet to 5,500 square feet. The ranch owner’s home is the largest, featuring a back balcony overlooking an in-ground pool. The ranch manager’s home is 3,600 square feet with a two-car garage and a large back deck.

The ranch has been listed by broker Layne Walker of Chas S. Middleton and Son.

Middleton and Son brokered the sale of the Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie from the TV show Yellowstone, which was initially listed at $341 million. The firm is also selling the late Boone Pickens’ Mesa Vista Ranch in the Panhandle, currently listed at $170 million.
