It was a dream come true, literally, for a man in Henrico, Virginia, when he won a large stash of cash in the lottery.

Alonzo Coleman says the sequence of numbers 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 came to him in a dream. He played the numbers in the state’s “Bank A Million” game on June 11 and won, pocketing $250,000 after taxes.

The “Bank A Million” game has numbers 1 through 40, from which players can choose six numbers. The prize amounts range from $250,000 to $1 million after taxes, depending on whether the player wagers the full $2 or elects to split the wager either two or four ways.

As explained on the Virginia Lottery website, “You decide how much to wager and what prize to try to win. The total play must add up to $2, but you can determine your wager. For example, choose two plays at $1 each, which gives you two chances to win $500,000; four plays at 50¢ each gives you four chances to win $250,000. There are plenty of options for you to win up to $1 million.”

Coleman split his wager four ways when he purchased the ticket and won $250,000 on one of the draws.

“It was hard to believe!” Coleman told Virginia Lottery officials. “It still hasn’t hit me yet!”

According to lottery officials, there is a one in 18 chance of winning any Break a Million prize and a one in 3.8 million chance of winning the top prize.

In Texas, a winner from Balch Springs recently claimed a Powerball prize worth $1 million for the drawing held on June 27. The second-tier winning Quick Pick ticket matched all five white-ball numbers drawn (11-13-18-30-37) but not the red Powerball number (16).

Last month, The Dallas Express reported a player at an Irving, Texas, Circle K had won $7.25 million in the Texas Lottery Extra game, matching all six numbers, 7-10-23-34-46-47. The winner selected the cash option and will receive $4,632,166.56 before taxes.

The Texas Lottery holds drawings daily, sometimes multiple times a day. Winners are given 180 days to claim their prize.
