Two Texas teens are dead after a Friday night pool party turned violent near Houston, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Deputies responded to the shooting call around 10:40 p.m. on Friday and discovered multiple victims shot at the Kimberly Pointe Apartments.
Gonzalez described the scene as “chaotic.” The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HSCO) said three males were found with gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel took the victims to a local hospital where two 17-year-old victims passed away from their injuries. The two teenagers have been identified as Cameron Allen and Dillon Denman.
A third victim is expected to survive. That victim’s age and identity have not been released.
The Houston Chronicle reported that the shooting occurred in response to an argument that got out of control. Preliminary investigations found that several people fired shots in the parking lot.
HCSO Homicide Detective Dennis Wolfford said the department detained possible suspects.
“We’re still working to figure out who exactly fired the shots, and we’ll be interviewing them and reviewing surveillance video to figure out exactly how this whole thing went down,” he said.
Gonzalez said the case is still active, and HCSO asks anyone with information to contact the office at 713-274-9100 or CrimeStoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
