An armed suspect fired on a Dallas police officer outside a south Dallas game room on Wednesday, and police are still trying to track him down.
A plainclothes officer was scouting a building in the 3800 block of S. Lancaster Road on June 8 just before 10:30 p.m., when someone came out of the game room and fired a single shot in his direction, DPD told The Dallas Express.
After the gunman fired his weapon, the officer requested backup, put on his full police gear, announced his identity as an officer, and shouted commands to the suspect.
A brief foot chase ensued, but the officer lost sight of the suspect as he re-entered the building. Additional officers arrived and secured the perimeter.
Critical response officers entered the building but found no one inside, though detectives found two firearms inside the building. No officers fired their weapons during the incident.
The suspect is still at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
