Dallas Police are requesting the public’s help finding a missing teen who disappeared last month.
Gabrielle McDonald-Willis, 15, went missing on April 27. She was last seen walking on foot in the 1800 block of Commerce Street in Dallas.
Her mother, Brendetta McDonald, said Gabrielle left home after getting in trouble at school. After two weeks of no contact, the teen’s family is concerned about her safety.
“My biggest concern is that she’s held against her will, and she wants to come home, but she can’t come home,” said McDonald to WFAA. “She wants to come home. I know my baby wants to come home.”
According to the Black and Missing Foundation, the teen’s family is concerned that she is a victim of sex trafficking.
The Dallas Police Department updated her case to “critical missing” on May 12.
McDonald stated that her family had received information that Gabrielle has allegedly been seen in many locations throughout Downtown and South Dallas.
Police described Gabrielle as a black female who is 5’4″ tall, 130 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing black pants, a black shirt, and black shoes.
The Dallas Police Department has 70 active runaway reports and dozens of missing people cases that are currently active.
Detectives stated they had been searching for Gabrielle by checking her name through various databases the department can access.
McDonald’s has also distributed fliers around Dallas and shared Gabrielle McDonald-Willis’s photo on social media.
“When you see a missing flyer of a child, we urge you to share it,” said Betty Simons, the owner of a Houston-based advocacy organization called Valor Investigations. “It could take one person even out of state who has seen that child or recognizes that child.”
Anyone with information regarding the missing teen’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-4268, referencing case number 074030-2022.
