The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced last week that it increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of one of the state’s Top 10 Most Wanted.

According to DPS, anyone who provides information that leads to Gregory Jon Pecina Jr.’s arrest within the month of April could be eligible for a reward of $4,000.

As reported by The Dallas Express, 37-year-old Pecina, of Grand Prairie, was added to the most wanted sex offenders list on February 9 and is wanted for aggravated assault, robbery, and kidnapping.

On April 21, 2021, DPS issued a warrant for Pecina for failing to register as a sex offender. Pecina must register every year since he is a convicted sex offender.

Pecina was originally arrested and convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child in 2014 after an incident involving a 13-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison and released on parole in September 2019.

The man was then wanted for aggravated assault inflicting bodily injury, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and parole violation on November 14, 2020.

On December 11, 2020, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for his arrest for violating his parole.

The Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender List describes Pecina as a Hispanic male, 5’9″ tall, roughly 180 pounds, with an identifying scar on his back. DPS cautions the public that the suspect is likely to be armed and considered extremely dangerous.

Anyone with information about Pecina is asked to leave an anonymous tip through one of three methods below:

– A phone call to 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), the Crime Stoppers Hotline

– Online via DPS’ website. Tipsters can scroll down to the list of offenders and choose the one about whom they have information.

– By visiting the Texas DPS Facebook Page, clicking on the “About” section, and entering information in the space provided.

Any individuals calling will be assigned a tip number in lieu of a name to preserve anonymity.
