Kroger’s Dallas Division is introducing a new program to offer consistent wholesale pricing and next-day delivery for local restaurants. The service, called Kroger Restaurant Supply, was rolled out on April 5.

According to a Kroger press release, the program is available in all of Dallas-Fort Worth. It was created to provide restaurants with an alternative to ordering large quantities on set schedules at variable prices.

Jay Scherger, the director of the Kroger Technology & Digital/E-Commerce Accelerator, said in the press release that the service will also make it easier for restaurants to ensure customer favorites remain on the menu.

“Running a restaurant has always been difficult — and today it feels like it’s harder than ever,” Scherger said. “This new service will bring our fresh assortment directly to regional businesses — all at consistent prices, product availability, and delivery cadence they can count on.”

According to the corporation, potential customers of the new Kroger Restaurant Supply include regional bakeries, restaurants, and catering companies. All orders of $250 or more will be eligible for free next-day delivery. Businesses can receive next-day delivery on orders placed before midnight every day.

“Supply chain bottlenecks are impacting nearly every restaurant across the country,” said Corey Mobley, the executive director of the North Texas region of the Texas Restaurant Association. “This opportunity comes at a great time for small and independent restaurants. We’re proud to work with Kroger to strengthen our industry.”

Orders have to be made through the Kroger Supply website, and businesses must submit an EIN and Texas state tax ID to get started. The service is geared toward smaller, more frequent orders to provide flexibility for regional businesses.

“Like our resident shoppers, we know our commercial customers want options and solutions that offer fresh food, consistent pricing, and reliability,” Kroger Dallas Division President Keith Shoemaker said. “When our DFW restaurants think food, we want them to think Kroger. We look forward to providing this new offering and extension of our overall grocery ecosystem.”

Kroger Restaurant Supply offers a range of local fresh food with options to purchase in bulk or on a per-piece level.

According to Kroger, the corporation has committed to creating more “#ZeroHungerZeroWaste” communities by 2025.

The company website states, “We are counting on our associates, customers, partners, and other stakeholders to help shape innovative solutions and scalable best practices as our work evolves. Because when it comes to hunger and waste, zero is the only acceptable answer.”

Across all of the Kroger supermarkets, half a million associates work to serve more than 11 million customers. The Texas-based Kroger Dallas Division has 109 retail stores with over 15,000 employees.
