An officer with the Fort Worth Police Department was arrested and accused of attempting to destroy evidence.

According to the authorities, a complaint was sent to the department in January alleging that Sgt. Rodsdricke Martin attempted to destroy evidence while he was working off-duty.

Martin was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair. He was indicted on the charge by a Tarrant County grand jury on March 25. He was then arrested on March 29 after a warrant was issued.

According to court records, 46-year-old Rodsdricke Martin is being held at the Tarrant County jail with his bail set at $5000.

Police did not provide details regarding what evidence Martin was accused of attempting to destroy. Officials also did not release any additional information regarding the incident.

Before the arrest, the Fort Worth Police Department said that the 46-year-old officer had been placed on restrictive duty from the force while administrative and criminal investigations were executed.

According to The Dallas Morning News, the department stated on March 30 that the administrative investigation was almost complete, and Martin had been placed on unpaid suspension.
