A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Arlington earlier this month.
According to Arlington Police, the 32-year-old woman was running across a busy roadway in the 400 block of N. Collins Street on March 12 when she was hit.
Officers responded to the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead.
According to police, witness reports and surveillance video showed that the woman tried to run across the road when it was not clear for crossing. As she attempted to cross, she was struck by a Chrysler 300 traveling northbound.
Police said the driver of the Chrysler 300 remained at the scene and cooperated with their investigation. They say he will not be charged in connection to the incident.
Arlington Police said the department advises pedestrians to cross roadways at designated locations like stoplights with crosswalks. Residents are also urged to obey all traffic signals when crossing roadways.
The victim will be identified after the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office notifies the next of kin.
