Among the many hoping this year’s palindromic date of 2/22/22 — “Twosday” — would bring them luck were several Dallas couples who thought it would be a good day to tie the knot.

Per The Dallas Morning News, the South Dallas Government Center was filled with couples and their families looking to make the date their special day. While the exact number of couples that got married in Dallas County that day is not known, clerks and judges said the number was higher than usual.

The Fraziers are one of the couples that got married on February 22 at the Dallas County Justice of the Peace Thomas G. Jones’ courtroom. The couple met while they were students at John B. Hood Middle School (now Piedmont Global Academy). They later drifted apart but got back together a few years ago.

When the two decided to get married, they wanted it to be on a special date. Toni Frazier thought the numbers lining up was special. However, the two originally wanted to get married on February 2 – 2/2/22 – but the courthouse was fully booked (apparently, other people had similar ideas).

According to The Dallas Morning News, Omari Frazier brimmed with excitement in a beige suit as his soon-to-be bride walked through the courtroom in a stunning red dress.

April Turner and Nahndy Malbrough are another duo that made their union official on February 22. The two met on a dating site; Malbrough was attracted by Turner’s picture while Turner was drawn in by Malbrough’s smile and bio. Upon getting to know each other, the two found they shared a love for football.

Not only was February 22 the day Turner and Malbrough decided to share vows, but it was also their second anniversary. While it might sound planned, the couple said they didn’t pick the day for such reasons and didn’t put it together until they started telling people.

Per The Dallas Morning News, the couple shared their vows in an emotional scene as tears fell from their eyes.
