Dallas Police arrested a man in connection to the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old woman who was dropped off at a hospital on February 11.

According to a report posted on DPD Beat, 31-year-old Alexander Escobar dropped the woman at a hospital the afternoon of February 11. The woman reportedly suffered bruises on her face and two gunshot wounds.

It is unclear whether the woman died at the hospital or was already dead by the time Escobar dropped her there.

After investigation, detectives determined Escobar to be the suspect in the shooting, alleging that he had shot the woman at a motel.

He then dropped the woman at the hospital, crashing his vehicle on his way back. Police say he was trying to overdose on methamphetamines when the crash happened.

Escobar was returned to the hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Police did not release additional information on the case, such as the motive for the shooting and the identity of the woman involved. An investigation is ongoing.

According to jail records obtained by The Dallas Morning News, Escobar was booked into the Dallas County Jail. He faces a murder charge, with his bond set at $500,000. It is unclear whether an attorney is representing him.
