The fifth annual Food in Fashion Charity Event will be held in Dallas on February 22. Tickets and Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this charity event supporting the Texas Restaurant Foundation, Texas ProStart, and other local career development programs.
Food in Fashion offers a win-win for food lovers, trend-setters, and everybody else. Fashion designers are partnering with local restaurants in creating food-inspired fashion that the models will be showing off. The Greater Dallas Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association is presenting this evening of excitement featuring a food-inspired fashion show, bite-sized appetizers, and refreshments, a live silent auction, in addition to a VIP reception after the evening.
Hors d’oeuvres will be served in the Fashion Industry Gallery, located at 1807 Ross Avenue, Dallas, by teams of local culinary students in the Ben E. Keith Culinary Competition. Sweet and savory dishes will be tasted by guests and then thoroughly reviewed by a carefully scrutinized panel of professional judges. The winning teams will compete to receive a special program “wish list” donated by Food in Fashion.
Beckley 1115 is among the many supporters of the event. It is a brand new, vibrant, bright, and colorful neighborhood wine bar serving mouthwatering bites. It features seasonal wine, beer, and chef’s monthly dinners. Models will be walking down the catwalk at a much slower pace, ensuring that guests can savor each highlighted outfit and fashionable configuration prepared by Beckley 1115’s chefs. Each appearance is accompanied by music chosen by the designer. The outfits will be judged by a panel of juries from the audience, with prizes awarded to the top designers.
Sharon Van Meter, the renowned chef, restaurateur, and longtime philanthropist, is creating the phenomenal Food in Fashion Foie Gras Gold Dust Start Burger, to be served all month at her new Beckley 1115 location in Bishop Arts District. Part of the revenue from the proceeds of the burger will benefit Food in Fashion.
