If you played with the Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse as a child, then the Balmain x Barbie pop-up shop at Neiman Marcus is not to be missed. As reported by Paper City, the limited-time experience is the only one of its kind in the country, and it’s at NorthPark through January 30.

To celebrate the one-of-a-kind pop-up, a bubblegum-pink party was held, complete with cotton candy and Parisian-style park benches with a pedestrian garden resembling the infamous Tuileries. Another cause for such a grand celebration was the ten-year anniversary of the relationship between Neiman Marcus and Balmain.

The exclusive tailored Balmain pieces included bright iconography badges, tees, hoodies, bags, gorgeous dresses, unisex pieces, and shoes. Purchasing a few pieces would likely set you back your mortgage payment, with prices ranging from $295 to $42,494.

Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, and his design team were inspired by Barbie’s world, giving each piece the signature hot and bubble gum pink and yellow colors many children grew up idolizing. The bright colors are perfect for any spring event you have planned.

Rousteing has been Balmain’s creative director since 2009. At only twenty-five, the French designer changed the course of the brand, creating more designs with an Asian influence to cater to the brand’s most loyal following. Rousteing steered Balmain past the millionth-follower count on Instagram, the first French label ever to do so.

While most of the items disappeared by the end of the private event, a Neiman Marcus team member shared with Paper City that more garments would be shipped overnight for weekend shoppers.

If you do plan on grabbing some of the Balmain x Barbie merchandise this month, be sure to check out the pop-up on the weekend, when there will be DJs, cotton candy machines, and a chance to pretend you’re Barbie with a picture inside a life-sized Barbie doll box. Maybe you will find your “Barbie” or “Ken” while you are there.
