Two very popular food establishments are expanding in Dallas.

The beloved Mike’s Chicken has new plans to expand after years of serving what many residents have deemed the best-fried chicken around. The local hot spot has also garnered attention from national outlets such as USA Today and insider.com.

Mike’s Chicken is a family-owned business started by Son and Tram Dao. The Dao’s opened Mike’s inside their laundromat after relocating to Dallas. Word slowly got out when it came to the business’ quality fried chicken plates made from scratch. Now, the family plans to open a second location in the space once occupied by Taco Y Mas at Forest Lane, across from Medical City hospital.

For those unaware of what makes Mike’s a go-to place for chicken, the restaurant makes all orders from scratch as they come in. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with 100% peanut oil. Mike’s Chicken also offers great sides and desserts.

Antone’s Famous Po’Boys is expanding its reach in Dallas. The famous sandwich shop known for quality meats and great bread is coming to North Texas. The brand will now offer its cold, grab-n-go sandwiches in 100 additional supermarkets, including Tom Thumb, Market Street Stores, Kroger, and more.

“We are excited to finally make our po’boys available to folks in North Texas,” says Antone’s CEO Craig Lieberman in a statement. “It’s been a matter of expanding our production facility, which gives us the ability to deliver a consistent, fresh product daily – one that Texans in other parts of the state have come to enjoy.”

Some of Antone’s top picks include The Original sandwich with ham, salami, and provolone, The Piggy with chopped ham, salami, and pepper jack, as well as the Premium Roast Beef with white cheddar, horseradish, and spicy pickles. Antone’s will celebrate 60 years in business in 2022.
