Shenaniganz in Rockwall is a place for light-hearted, carefree fun except for three former Dallas Mavericks players.
The Rockwall location is one of two in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Visitors can do a variety of things from attempting to break out of its live escape rooms to having a slice of pizza and an ice cold beverage.
Dallas Express reached out to part-owner Parker Coddington about what visitors could expect the first time they come through the doors.
“Guests should expect to make some new, great memories with the friends, families or coworkers they come to Shenaniganz with,” Coddington told Dallas Express. “Guests usually stay longer than they planned, play more than they thought they would and leave talking about when they want to come back to do the things they didn’t get to do on that visit. Axe throwing, our indoor food truck and our Escapology escape rooms are the hottest things with our Shenani-Fanz right now, plus the live entertainment we’ve started providing in our Shenaniganz LIVE! venue.”
The business, which is located just east of Lake Ray Hubbard east of Dallas, is a two-time winner of Living Magazine’s Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
“People (regulars and first-timers alike) tell us our food is always better than what they expect when they hear a place has bowling,” Coddington told Dallas Express. “That’s because we basically have a scratch kitchen and don’t cheap out on our ingredients. They love that there’s something for everybody – the old and the young, thrill-seekers and wallflowers, the hungry and the thirsty. Seventy-five thousand square feet of air conditioned space means we can offer a lot of options for food and fun, and we can always be bringing in something new.”
The venue recently went viral when it banned former Dallas Mavericks players Rajon Rondo, Lamar Odom and DeAndre Jordan from their premises following the team’s elimination from the NBA Playoffs after being defeated by the L.A. Clippers, according to WFAA News.
“In short, all three of those dudes basically screwed over Dirk,” Coddington told Dallas Express. “Two of them basically quit on the team after traded away valuable assets for them. The third made the unprecedented move of agreeing to sign with a team as a free agent and then reneging on the deal, and by that time, the best other free agents had already agreed to sign with other teams. Dirk was still in his championship window back then, so when you mess with the G.O.A.T., there are consequences!”
Coddington said that the players could have the ban lifted by donating to Shenaniganz’s official charity, The Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Texas.
The business owner told WFAA News that they would still have to pay the entry fee to get in though.
