Dallas native and longtime Cowboys fan Post Malone will headline the team’s annual Thanksgiving Day halftime show at AT&T Stadium, the organization announced Sunday.

The Grammy-nominated artist will perform during the Cowboys’ November 27 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, launching The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign — one of the nation’s largest annual charitable drives.

“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” Malone said in a statement. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”

The Cowboys have partnered with The Salvation Army for the Red Kettle Kickoff since 1997, hosting major artists including Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Destiny’s Child, Luke Combs, Kelly Clarkson, and the Jonas Brothers.

Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Cowboys, said the annual halftime performance remains central to the organization’s holiday tradition.

The Cowboys’ recent Thanksgiving halftime performers have included Dolly Parton in 2023, the Jonas Brothers in 2022, Luke Combs in 2021, Kane Brown in 2020, Ellie Goulding in 2019, and Lainey Wilson in 2024, continuing the franchise’s long tradition of featuring major national acts for one of the NFL’s most-watched annual events.

“The Red Kettle Campaign is more than a tradition — it’s a lifeline,” Jones said. “Every ring of a bell is a reminder that small acts of generosity can spark real joy. We’re proud to stand with The Salvation Army once again and are so excited for our biggest fan, Post Malone, to share his immense talent and energy with fans nationwide.”

Malone, one of the most streamed artists in the world, has collected 11 Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards, and 18 Grammy nominations. Organizers say his performance will blend his signature mix of country, rock, and hip-hop.

Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander for The Salvation Army, praised the partnership, calling it critical to the organization’s mission. The nonprofit operates more than 7,400 centers nationwide and provides food, housing, and other services to nearly 28 million people annually.

“For nearly three decades, the Dallas Cowboys and the Gene and Jerry Jones Family have been dedicated partners to The Salvation Army,” Heatwole said. “Their unwavering commitment has helped bring hope and care to our most vulnerable neighbors, and we’re deeply thankful to Post Malone for helping us kick off the holiday season.”

The Cowboys’ Thanksgiving halftime show is one of the most watched musical performances of the year, drawing tens of millions of viewers across the country.

The Dallas Cowboys first announced the halftime performer in an article posted Sunday on DallasCowboys.com.
