Dallas ISD will host virtual information sessions in December and January for families exploring the district’s extensive specialty school programs.

Applications for more than a dozen educational options, from early college programs to arts academies, are now open through January 31, 2026.

The district’s choice schools serve thousands of students seeking alternatives to traditional neighborhood campuses. With programs spanning pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, families can select pathways matching their children’s interests and learning styles.

Virtual sessions will run from 9 to 11 a.m. on December 6 for elementary schools. Middle and high school programs will be featured from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the same day.

A final session covering all grade levels is scheduled for January 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Parents can learn about application requirements and program specifics during these online events.

Available programs include P-TECH and Early College options for career-focused students. Montessori schools offer child-centered learning approaches, while single-gender campuses provide specialized environments.

International Baccalaureate programs prepare students for admission to top global universities. STEM and STEAM academies emphasize science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

The district also operates dual-language schools, as well as visual and performing arts programs. Career Institutes, which offer project-based learning, personalized instruction, and hybrid or virtual options, round out the offerings.

Talented and Gifted programs serve academically advanced students. Transformation schools focus on innovative teaching methods, while Legacy School transfers allow enrollment outside neighborhood boundaries.

Early Learning programs give young children educational head starts. The diverse portfolio reflects Dallas ISD’s commitment to matching students with schools that fit their needs.

Families interested in specialty programs must submit their applications by January 31. The district encourages early applications as some programs have limited enrollment capacity.
