The House Oversight Committee on Wednesday made public more than 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender, including email exchanges with former government officials, journalists, and other notable individuals.

Republicans on the panel released the documents after Democrats earlier highlighted three emails involving President Donald Trump. Trump has rejected any suggestion of wrongdoing and labeled the Democratic releases a deflection tactic.

“Democrats whine about ‘releasing the files,’ but they only cherry-pick when they have them to generate clickbait,” the Republican Oversight Committee posted on X.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told TIME that Democrats “selectively leaked emails” to “create a fake narrative to smear President Donald Trump.” At a press conference on Wednesday, she called the latest disclosures “another distraction campaign by the Democrats and the liberal media.”

The documents show Epstein corresponded with figures across the political spectrum. Among them:

Larry Summers, former Treasury secretary under Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, in a May 2017 email, asked Epstein, “How guilty is Donald?”

Summers then listed his concerns: “Of crudity surely Of gross ignorance surely Of being utterly without the intellect temperament for job surely Of being over line on family profiting very likely Of gross disregard for appearances almost surely.”

Summers added uncertainty about “Russians having financial leverage” or election help “w complicity of his campaign,” Time reported.

In October 2017, Summers wrote that half the world’s IQ was held by women, who are “more than 51 percent of population,” and questioned why certain allegations barred professional opportunities while others did not.

“DO NOT REPEAT THIS INSIGHT,” he wrote.

Summers expressed regret over ties to Epstein in a statement to the Harvard Crimson on Wednesday.

Michael Wolff, author, in January 2015, Epstein told Wolff that former President Bill Clinton “was never on the island” and sought advice on publicizing the claim. Wolff advised against involving a former girlfriend who could have corroborated the claims, Time reported

In 2016, after learning of a lawsuit accusing Epstein and Trump of assault, Wolff wrote, “Well, I guess if there’s anybody who can wave thus [sic] away, it’s Donald.”

The lawsuit was ultimately withdrawn.

In February 2019, Epstein described Trump’s business model: “His biz model is putting his name on a real estate development and gets a fee for using his name.”

That same year, Epstein wrote an email about Trump asking him to leave Mar-a-Lago, Politico reported.

“Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever,” Epstein wrote, adding, “[O]f course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.” This was a reference to Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted Epstein co-conspirator.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, a former British royal, in March 2011, Epstein forwarded “the Duke” a story about Virginia Giuffre’s allegations.

The Duke replied, “What? I don’t know any of this.”

He demanded that statements clarify “I am NOT involved and that I knew and know NOTHING about any of these allegations.”

Days later, Epstein wrote, per Time, “Clinton was never on the island.. the telephone book is not mine, it was stolen by my houseman.”

Landon Thomas Jr., a former New York Times reporter, in 2015, Epstein called Giuffre’s claims against the royal “delusional.” Thomas replied that the royal was “keeping the story alive.” Later, Thomas accepted Epstein’s offer to send him “photso [sic] of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen.”

In 2018, Thomas shared an article on Trump’s mental state; Epstein responded, “he feels alone, and is nuts !!!”

Thomas left the Times in 2019 after soliciting a donation from Epstein to a nonprofit, which the paper called “a clear violation” of ethics.

Kathryn Ruemmler, a former Obama White House counsel, in August 2018, wrote about Michael Cohen’s case concerning alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, “The principled case for impeachment is clear. What’s missing is the courage.”

Epstein replied on Trump’s defense and added, “you see, i know how dirty donald is.” In February 2017, Ruemmler called Trump “so gross”; Epstein said, “Worse in real life and upclose.”

Peter Thiel, a venture capitalist, in November 2018, Epstein wrote, “I liked your Trump exaggerations not lies,” and invited Thiel to the Caribbean in December. A representative said Thiel never visited the island, Time reported.

Steve Bannon, a former Trump adviser, in 2018, Epstein offered to arrange meetings with leaders in Europe.

In June 2019, Epstein wrote about Trump and the royal: “prince andrew and trump today.. Tooo funny,” noting the accuser “came out of mara lago.”

Bannon replied, according to Time, “Can’t believe nobody is making u the connective tissue.”

Peggy Siegal, publicist, in 2011, Epstein asked Siegal to urge HuffPost to investigate Giuffre, claiming she was “never 15” and worked at Mar-a-Lago. Siegal offered to forward a grammatically corrected version to Ariana Huffington. HuffPost said no such coverage was pursued.

A House vote on further Epstein file disclosure is scheduled next week after a discharge petition. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) predicted 40 to 50 Republicans would support it alongside Democrats.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, called the issue a “Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” meant to distract from Democratic failures. No evidence in the documents indicates Trump participated in Epstein’s trafficking. The White House described one redacted victim reference as Giuffre, who died by suicide this year and never accused Trump.
