The Senate reconvened on Monday at 11 a.m. ET to continue work on ending the 41-day federal shutdown, after a rare Sunday session advanced a short-term funding bill by a 60–40 vote, ABC News reported.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said he will call members back with 36 hours’ notice once the Senate passes the measure.

The breakthrough came as seven Democrats and one independent backed the bill, which Johnson applauded. He urged lawmakers to begin returning to work, signaling a potential end to the historic shutdown.
