Peloton is recalling approximately 833,000 Original Series Bike+ exercise bikes due to a seat post issue that can cause the bike to break during use, posing a fall hazard and resulting in two reported injuries.
The voluntary recall covers model PL02 bikes with serial numbers starting with “T.” The 4-by-2-foot units, which feature adjustable seats and handlebars, sold for roughly $2,495 at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online at onepeloton.com, Amazon, eBay, and Dickssportinggoods.com from January 2020 through April 2025.
Peloton has received three reports of the seat post assembly breaking and detaching while riders were pedaling. Owners should immediately stop using the bikes and contact Peloton for a free replacement seat post that can be self-installed.
Consumers can reach the company toll-free at 866-679-9129 from 6 a.m. to midnight ET, Monday through Friday, or visit www.onepeloton.com and click on “Product Recalls” at the bottom of the page. Serial numbers are printed inside the front fork, behind it, or behind the flywheel.
The bikes were manufactured in Taiwan and imported by Peloton Interactive Inc., based in New York. The recall number 26-067.
