DALLAS — All Dallas ISD campuses will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 4, as schools across the district serve as polling sites for local voters, the district announced this week.
Students will have the day off while teachers report for professional development. District officials said the measure ensures the safety and well-being of students and staff while campuses are open to the public.
Administrative offices will remain open, with central team members following regular schedules.
However, The Dallas ISD Hub — the district’s official news site — included multiple factual errors in its Election Day announcement. The graphic accompanying the post correctly references the 2025 Election Day closure, but the text beneath it appears to have been reused from last year.
The article lists Tuesday, November 5, as Election Day and says early voting runs “from Oct. 21 to Nov. 1.” According to the Texas Secretary of State’s official election calendar, Election Day this year is Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and early voting runs Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 31.
The outdated copy mirrors the district’s October 24, 2024 post, which contained those same dates during last year’s election cycle.
On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all locations. Registered voters can cast ballots at their assigned polling places.
Under Texas law, voters must present one of seven acceptable forms of identification when voting in person:
- Texas driver’s license
- Election identification certificate
- Personal identification card
- Handgun license (all issued by DPS)
- U.S. military ID with photo
- U.S. citizenship certificate with photo
- U.S. passport
Dallas ISD encouraged residents to celebrate voting by sharing their “I Voted” stickers on social media using #DallasISDVotes. Voters can contact their county elections office for questions about polling sites or voting procedures.
