Turning Point USA announced Thursday it will host an “All American Halftime Show” during the 2026 Super Bowl, offering an alternative choice to the NFL’s main event featuring Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny.
Scheduled for February 8, 2026, at the same time as Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in California, the new Turning Point show is advertised as a celebration of “faith, family, and freedom.”
Details and performers will be announced at a later date, but a sign-up form shared on X lets fans choose from a selection of different musical genres such as Americana, country, rock, pop, hip-hop, or worship – with one option listed simply as “anything in English.”
The move follows weeks of backlash from Americans over Bad Bunny’s selection as the halftime headliner, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. Critics, including high-profile White House staff, say the choice reflects the NFL’s growing focus on DEI and virtue signaling rather than traditional American values.
In his Saturday Night Live monologue on October 4, Bad Bunny mocked critics of his 2026 Super Bowl halftime selection, telling viewers in Spanish to “learn the language” within four months before his performance.
Some political leaders, such as Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski and commentator Megyn Kelly, have vocally criticized the pick, both referencing Bad Bunny’s past loud criticisms of immigration enforcement and his decision to skip American tour stops earlier this year due to concerns about ICE presence.
United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem also weighed in, calling the NFL “weak” while confirming reports that immigration officers will, in fact, be present at the stadium during the Super Bowl.
Turning Point’s announcement of their halftime show comes nearly a month after the assassination of the group’s co-founder, Charlie Kirk, as the organization resumes its “This Is the Turning Point” campus tour.
No artists have been confirmed as of press time, yet online speculation has centered around Christian rock band Creed, fueled by commentator Jack Posobiec’s suggestion on Kirk’s show that the band would make a fitting counter to what he called the NFL’s “deviant drag show” – a jab at Bad Bunny’s gender-fluid image and advertisements.
The NFL has not yet publicly commented on the backlash to the Bad Bunny booking or the announcement of Turning Point’s halftime show.
