(Texas Scorecard) – Police arrested a middle school teacher and coach in Celina Independent School District who allegedly recorded visual images of students’ intimate areas without their knowledge.
William Caleb Elliott, 26, was arrested Friday and charged with invasive visual recording in a bathroom or dressing room, a state jail felony.
Caleb Elliott is a 6th-grade teacher and 8th-grade coach at Moore Middle School, where he has worked since 2023.
His father is Celina ISD’s longtime Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Bill Elliott. His brother is also a coach in the district.
Superintendent Tom Maglisceau notified Moore Middle School parents on Friday that Celina police had executed a warrant on the campus around 3:00 p.m. and later arrested Elliott.
Maglisceau said Elliott was placed on indefinite administrative leave.
“The safety and security of our children is the top priority in Celina ISD,” added Maglisceau.
The Celina Police Department announced Elliott’s arrest on social media Friday and said their investigation is ongoing.
Elliott was booked into the Collin County Jail on Saturday. Bond was set at $100,000.
Caleb Elliott graduated from Celina High School in 2018, where he played varsity football.
According to Elliott’s resume, he graduated from the University of North Texas in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Studies. During 2021 and 2022, he worked in Celina ISD as a substitute teacher and a maintenance worker.
State records show Elliott holds a Texas teaching certificate.
In just the past few years, hundreds of Texas educators have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children in school districts across the state—including Celina ISD.
In January, Celina ISD bus monitor Timothy Adams was charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact and improper relationship between educator and student for alleged “inappropriate contact” with a female student on his bus.
Thousands of educator sexual misconduct complaints have been reported to the Texas Education Agency.
