Texas authorities have increased the reward to $4,000 for information leading to the arrest of Dante Dewayne Odom, a Houston sex offender named October’s Featured Fugitive.

The 52-year-old man has been on the run since June after failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

The heightened reward underscores Texas’ aggressive push to track down fugitive sex offenders through its Most Wanted program. So far in 2025, authorities have arrested 51 fugitives, including 19 sex offenders, with $37,000 paid in reward money.

Odom’s criminal history spans three decades. In 1992, he was convicted of burglary of a habitation with intent to sexually violate a 30-year-old woman, earning him a 12-year prison sentence.

Since then, he’s been convicted multiple times for failing to register as a sex offender and for assaulting a family member. He was last released from a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility in March 2022.

Standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds, Odom has distinguishing tattoos on his chest, right arm, and right hand. He also bears multiple scars on his head, face, chest, back, abdomen, arms, and knees.

To qualify for the cash reward, tipsters must contact authorities through specific channels. They can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS, submit a web tip through the DPS website, or send information via the Texas 10 Most Wanted Facebook page.

All tips remain anonymous regardless of submission method. Tipsters receive a tracking number instead of providing their names, ensuring their identities stay protected.

The Texas 10 Most Wanted program, funded by the Governor’s Office of Public Safety, collaborates with local law enforcement to identify and apprehend dangerous fugitives. Current lists with photos are available on the DPS website.
