Dallas-based Liberty Bankers Insurance Group is set to develop a new 42-acre community in a suburb northeast of Dallas.

Known as Parkside, the 149-home neighborhood will be located at 5005 Bunker Hill Road on Garland’s north side, close to Sachse High School. The new community will feature single-family homes atop 40- and 45-foot-wide lots.

The project is expected to cost between $12 million and $15 million. Construction is set to kick off within the next four to five months, with lots available for homebuilders to purchase by the end of next year, according to Hayden Moses, the development manager of real estate investments for Liberty Bankers.

Moses says residents could be moving in by the summer of 2027.

“Garland is thriving and has a really good young community, young families, and the Firewheel Parkway corridor is just a great place to be,” Moses said, per Dallas Business Journal. “We feel like putting good homes there will be a great opportunity for families to live.”

Despite Liberty Bankers Insurance Group typically focusing on the insurance business, Parkside will not be the first development from the company. Moses said Liberty has also developed single-family communities in Prosper, Brownwood, and Huntsville.

Last month, The Dallas Express reported that the City of Garland is considering rezoning a plot of land near the future $71 million Atlético Dallas soccer complex. The city-initiated rezoning application seeks to turn a 127-acre site into a large entertainment and commerce hub.

The Dallas suburb is also expecting a 45-acre data center campus from Digital Realty Trust Inc. Once complete, the estimated $120 million complex is expected to cover more than one million square feet, with the first portion potentially opening by October 2026.
