Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas minimized the political rhetoric encouraging violence during CNN’s The Arena with Kasie Hunt on September 16, following the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The Dallas Express reported that alleged gunman Tyler Robinson shot Kirk from 200 yards while standing on a rooftop at Utah Valley University on September 10. Kirk was answering a question about mass shootings, gun violence, and “transgender” issues when Robinson opened fire.

“Please tell me who is fostering this gun culture. Right? I mean, the reality is that the average person on the left probably could not make a shot from 200 yards because they haven’t been playing with assault rifles since they were a little kid. Like, that is just the reality of how people on the left typically work,” Crockett told Hunt.

Crockett also rejected comparisons between right- and left-wing violence.

“I think it is a false comparison in the first place. Period,” she said on CNN. In speaking about political violence, Crockett added that “it is never okay,” remarking about Trump that “if we had someone who knew about how to be an adult in the room, he would say that.”

Crockett, who arguably has difficulty acting as the “adult in the room,” previously labeled President Donald Trump a “wannabe Hitler” after Kirk’s death, seemingly overlooking that her vitriol incites the very political violence she claims not to endorse.

The White House agreed.

“Jasmine Crockett is the queen of divisive rhetoric and it is despicable that she would try and point fingers at President Trump for the assassination of his dear friend, Charlie Kirk,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told Newsweek.

Commentators, including Fox News analyst Brit Hume, warned that this continuing and tiresome leftist tone could backfire politically, according to The Liberty Daily.
