Ian Hollingsworth was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after attacking Miles at their workplace.

Hollingsworth reportedly blocked Miles’ vehicle with his pickup truck, then exited and struck it multiple times with a hammer. He reportedly shattered the driver-side window and assaulted Miles with the hammer.

Miles retrieved a revolver from his car and tried to get out while holding it; however, the suspect overpowered him, causing him to drop the gun. Hollingsworth reportedly picked up the gun and shot Miles three times—twice in the shoulder and once in the chest—before fleeing the scene, per WFAA. Miles later mentioned that Hollingsworth had previously accused him of giving “dirty looks,” but he was unsure why the situation escalated.

Miles has been working at FedEx since 1994, and Hollingsworth joined the company in 2021.
