Suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson

NBC News, citing five senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter, reported Robinson’s name after Trump told Fox & Friends that “with a high degree of certainty, we have him.”

The Telegraph later published a mugshot of Robinson, describing him as the suspect arrested in connection with the shooting.

Trump said Robinson’s father contacted authorities after the FBI released surveillance images of a man clad in a black hat and a T-shirt at Utah Valley University.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox told reporters a family member said Robinson had become “more political” in recent months and had voiced dislike for Kirk at a family dinner, per The Telegraph.

Authorities noted two unused bullet casings found at the scene were inscribed with anti-fascist slogans, including “Hey, fascist! Catch!” and “Bella ciao.” The Italian resistance sang a song titled Bella Ciao during World War II, according to the Financial Times.

FBI Director Kash Patel, a longtime ally of Kirk, called him a “friend” and vowed justice, saying, “Rest now brother, we have the watch, and I’ll see you in Valhalla.”
