The FBI’s Salt Lake City field office is asking the public for help identifying a person of interest connected to the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

Agents released images of the individual and urged anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit digital tips at fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting.

Kirk, 31, was assassinated during a Q&A session with students in Orem, Utah — the first stop of his “American Comeback Tour.” Authorities initially gave conflicting reports about whether a suspect was in custody before confirming the manhunt was ongoing.

The FBI has not released the name of the person of interest, but emphasized the need for public assistance as the investigation intensifies.
