President Donald Trump hosted top technology executives at the White House on Thursday evening for discussions on advancing American leadership in artificial intelligence.
The gathering brought together CEOs from OpenAI, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Meta, and other tech giants. The leaders praised Trump’s business-friendly approach and credited his policies with positioning the U.S. at the forefront of AI development.
The meeting underscored growing collaboration between Silicon Valley and the Trump administration on AI infrastructure and innovation. Several executives announced major U.S. investments during the discussions.
“Thank you for being such a pro-business, pro-innovation President. It’s a very refreshing change,” said OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. “The investment that’s happening here, the ability to get the power of the industry back in the United States, is going to set us up for a long period of great success leading the world — and I don’t think that would be happening without your leadership.”
Google co-founder Sergey Brin emphasized the global competition in AI development.
“It’s a real incredible inflection point right now in AI, and the fact that your Administration is supporting our companies instead of fighting with them — it’s hugely important,” Brin said.
The executives highlighted substantial infrastructure investments planned for the United States. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed his company would invest “at least $600 billion through 2028 in the U.S.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook thanked Trump for enabling a $600 billion investment in American manufacturing.
“I think that says a lot about your focus and your leadership and your focus on innovation,” Cook said.
Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella stressed the importance of global market access for American technology companies.
“The trust the world has on American technology … everything that you’re doing in terms of setting in place the platform where the rest of the world can not only use our technology, but trust our technology more than any other alternative, is perhaps the most important issue,” Nadella said.
The gathering builds on the Trump Administration’s AI Action Plan and initiatives led by the First Lady, which support AI education. OpenAI President Greg Brockman praised the administration’s optimistic approach to the technology.
Oracle CEO Safra Catz predicted transformative changes from AI adoption. “The fact that you are our President and you recognized this right away, and you’ve unleashed American innovation and creativity … is making it possible for America to win,” Catz said.
AMD President and CEO Lisa Su credited the administration with accelerating semiconductor industry support. Google CEO Sundar Pichai called the current period “one of the most transformative moments any of us have ever seen or will see in our lifetimes.”
The White House positioned the meeting as evidence of successful public-private partnerships driving American technological leadership. The administration emphasized its role in removing regulatory barriers and fostering innovation.
