The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced three product recalls last week due to risks of serious injury, including explosions, falls, and electrocution.
Drinkmate 1L Carbonation Bottles
Approximately 106,200 Drinkmate 1L Carbonation Bottles sold in the U.S., plus 5,000 sold in Canada, are being recalled because they can explode during use, posing a serious risk of impact, laceration, and hearing damage. The recalled bottles, made of clear polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with red, blue, white, or black caps and bases, have expiration dates between January 2026 and October 2026 printed on the side.
They were sold individually for about $20 or as part of some Drinkmate OmniFizz starter kits for $130 on iDrinkproducts.com, Walmart.com, Amazon.com, Target.com, and HomeDepot.com from April 2023 through October 2024.
Drinkmate has reported eight incidents of bottles exploding, with four resulting in lacerations, impact injuries, and hearing damage. Consumers should immediately stop using the bottles and contact Drinkmate at 844-812-6241 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email [email protected], or visit https://idrinkproducts.com/pages/drinkmate-safety-recall-of-1l-pet-bottles to request a free replacement bottle. Consumers must mark the bottle with “Recall,” upload a photo to the website, and dispose of it to receive a code for a free replacement, including shipping.
Werner Multi-Max Pro Ladders
About 122,250 Werner 20’ and 24’ Multi-Max Pro Multi-Purpose Ladders are recalled due to a locking mechanism that can jam and fail to fully lock, posing a fall hazard.
The silver ladders with blue tops and labels, marked with “Werner” and “MULTI MAX PRO” alongside model numbers ALMP-20IAA or ALMP-24IAA, include a black rope on the back. They were sold at Home Depot stores and HomeDepot.com from November 2021 through February 2024 for $200 to $281.
Werner has received 18 reports of falls, including 14 injuries such as bruising, lacerations, head injuries, and fractures to the wrist, leg, and ribs.
Consumers should stop using the ladders and contact Werner at 888-624-1907 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email [email protected], or visit http://www.wernerco.com/recalls to register for a full refund.
After disposing of the ladder per instructions, Werner will issue a refund check.
Remington Hair Dryers
Approximately 56,300 Remington Hair Dryers, model D3190DCDN, are recalled due to the lack of an immersion protection device, creating a risk of electrocution or shock if the dryer falls into water while plugged in.
The purple hair dryers with black accents, featuring “Remington” in white text and three black operating buttons, measure about 8.5 inches long, 11.6 inches high, and 3.6 inches wide, weighing 1.5 pounds. They were sold exclusively online at Walmart Marketplace, Target Marketplace, and Amazon from March 2024 through June 2025 for $25 to $32.
No incidents or injuries have been reported. Consumers should unplug and stop using the hair dryers and contact Empower Brands at 844-695-2134 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email [email protected], or visit https://www.remingtonproducts.com/product-recalls to submit a photo of the dryer with its cord cut in half for a full refund, following disposal instructions on the website.
All three products were manufactured in China. Consumers are urged to act promptly to address these safety concerns.
