Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D–Dallas) was confronted at a Dallas town hall by BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales, who accused the congresswoman of fabricating her background before being forcibly removed from the event.

“Jasmine! The people of Dallas deserve better than a fake ghetto hoodrat! Do they know you’re a rich kid from Missouri? Do they know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?” Gonzales shouted, according to video she later posted online.

The exchange triggered a shouting match with attendees, and Gonzales was eventually dragged from the room, according to reports published on NewsBreak. Police threatened arrest if she refused to leave. She later boasted on X, “I confronted Jasmine Crockett at a townhall for being a fake hoodrat.”

Johnson Report Featured on Megyn Kelly

Gonzales’ accusations echoed an investigation by commentator Benny Johnson, who appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show earlier this month. Johnson alleged Crockett misrepresented her upbringing, calling it “working class stolen valor.”

Johnson traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, where Crockett grew up, filming mansions, country clubs, and the Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS), a private prep academy she attended before graduating in 1999. He noted that MICDS tuition now tops $35,000 annually for upper grades, though the school currently lists tuition at just over $37,000. Rosati-Kain Academy — another private Catholic girls’ preparatory school Crockett attended — lists tuition at $15,700 per year.

While tuition was lower in the late 1990s, both schools required family resources and placed Crockett in a privileged educational track. Johnson estimated her total education — including her undergraduate studies at Rhodes College and her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center — amounted to close to $1 million.

Megyn Kelly underscored the point, saying of Crockett: We don’t hate you. We don’t care enough about you to hate you. We are laughing at you. We are making a mockery of you. You are making a mockery of yourself.”

Trump Weighs In

President Donald Trump mocked Crockett as “the future of the Democrat Party” in a social media post. Commentator Benny Johnson later shared Trump’s reaction on X and tied it to his own investigation, writing, Following our reporting exposing Jasmine Crockett’s fake hoodrat act and her wealthy upbringing, President Trump has officially endorsed her as the future of the Democrat Party 🤣.”

With town hall confrontations, national media coverage, and Trump’s amplification, Crockett’s behavior and public persona as previously reported by DX are drawing increased attention and highlighting how personal narratives are becoming political flashpoints.
