A Dallas man shot two people he knew before dying from his own gunshot wound early Saturday morning, according to police.

The triple shooting on Dudley Street marks one of several recent homicides in the city, as violent crime continues to strain local law enforcement resources and community safety efforts. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, violent crime in Dallas has risen compared to previous years.

Dallas Police said officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Dudley Street at approximately 2:10 a.m. on August 9, 2025. Upon arrival, officers found 53-year-old Lalit Pradhan suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound as well as several lacerations.

Authorities have not disclosed the nature of the relationship between Pradhan and the two victims. The case remains under active investigation, and detectives are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shootings.

The Dallas Police Department said the incident is being documented under three separate case numbers: 113635-2025, 113712-2025, and 113721-2025.

Detective C. Fehrenbach has been assigned to lead the investigation. Anyone who may have information related to the shooting is urged to contact him directly at (214) 671-3671 or by email at [email protected].

Police continue to ask residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, as they work to address a recent increase in violent crime across the city.
