A man was killed early Saturday morning in what marks the city’s 14th homicide of July, continuing a deadly trend that has challenged Dallas law enforcement throughout the month.
The latest incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 27 in the 6200 block of Military Parkway, where officers responded to a call for service and found an unresponsive victim. Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police arrested 43-year-old Rafael Baez Yanez in connection with the killing. He has been charged with murder, and the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victim. The investigation is documented under case number 106752-2025.
This most recent killing adds to a series of homicides that pushed the city’s July total to 14 — including victims ranging from teenagers to senior citizens and circumstances spanning personal disputes, altercations, and targeted attacks.
