Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly briefed President Donald Trump in May that his name appeared in investigative files related to Jeffrey Epstein, according to sources close to the matter.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that Trump received a direct briefing from Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who informed the President that his name, along with many other well-known figures, was present in the Justice Department (DOJ) files tied to Epstein.

This briefing was reportedly a standard procedure and was intended to cover a variety of topics related to this case, with Trump’s name not being the primary focus of the information provided.

One official close to the matter informed the WSJ that hundreds of other names were listed in the files.

Additionally, the briefing included news that senior DOJ officials did not plan to release any more documents from this investigation, citing child pornography and victims’ personal information as the reasoning.

White House communications director Steven Cheung attempted to discredit the WSJ in a statement about the story: “This is another fake news story, just like the previous story by The Wall Street Journal.”

Bondi and Blanche released a brief statement to the WSJ in response to this story, claiming that the notice given to Trump was standard procedure.

“As part of our routine briefing, we made the President aware of the findings,” they wrote.

This report comes shortly after Blanche announced plans on social media to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, who was Epstein’s longtime associate, romantic partner, and convicted accomplice in sex trafficking.

Blanche wrote on X that he has “contacted her counsel” at the direction of Bondi and will meet with Maxwell in the coming days to discuss the case.

These developments come on the heels of recent scrutiny directed at Trump for the ending of the investigation, with the President repeatedly claiming that high-ranking Democratic officials created the Epstein files.

“And I would say that, you know, these files were made up by Comey. They were made up by Obama. They were made up by the Biden [administration]. And we went through years of that with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. With all of the different things that we had to go through. We’ve gone through years of it,” Trump said, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Currently, there is no indication about whether additional files will be released from this investigation.
