Drivers in Frisco are navigating significant delays this week as the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) carries out a wave of closures along the Dallas North Tollway (DNT), now through Saturday, July 26.

The closures are part of NTTA’s DNT widening project aimed at reducing congestion and improving safety along one of North Texas’ busiest highway corridors. The impacted area spans both directions of the tollway between Legacy Drive and U.S. 380.

Daily Closures (Through July 26):

  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (as needed):

    • North- and southbound right lanes between Gaylord Parkway and Cotton Gin Road

    • Southbound right lane between PGA Parkway and Fields Parkway

Nightly Closures (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.):

  • Two lanes closed in each direction between Legacy Drive and US 380

  • Southbound SH 121 exit ramp closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Full Tollway Closures:

  • Tuesday & Wednesday nights:

    • All southbound lanes between Stonebrook Parkway and John Hickman Parkway (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.)

  • Saturday morning (12 a.m. to 8 a.m.):

Ramp Closures:

  • Wednesday night (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.):

    • Southbound Fields Parkway exit ramp

  • Thursday through Saturday nights (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.):

    • All northbound lanes from Panther Creek Parkway to Fields Parkway

  • Friday & Saturday nights (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.):

    • Southbound John Hickman Parkway entrance ramp

    • Northbound Stonebrook Parkway entrance ramp

Ongoing Closures:

  • Northbound DNT entrance at SH 121

  • Southbound John Hickman/Warren/Gaylord exit ramp

  • Southbound SH 121/Headquarters exit ramp

    • Closed nightly through Saturday, August 2, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

    • Drivers must detour via Stonebrook Parkway and continue south on Dallas Parkway

What Drivers Should Know:

  • Use Waze for up-to-date alternate routes

  • Daytime closures only occur as needed

  • Expect overnight delays and detours across multiple entry and exit points

Crews are working on sign installation, final barrier preparation, and permanent pavement markings as the tollway expansion moves toward completion.
