While speaking on Sunday night, a Dallas crowd booed the former president when he announced that he got the COVID-19 booster shot.

Trump made the admission on Sunday night while speaking at a live interview show with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.

Trump and O’Reilly had been on the “The History Tour,” which followed both men as they visited cities in Florida and Texas over four days.  The tour made its final stop at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday.

During the interview, O’Reilly asked Trump if he received the booster shot. Trump’s answer to the question, which was affirmative, drew boos from the crowd.

According to a poll conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation in October, 60% of unvaccinated Americans are Republicans.

Trump told the crowd that while he isn’t against taking the vaccine, he disagrees with vaccines mandates and believes people should have the right to choose.

While speaking on Sunday night, Trump took credit for the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We saved tens of millions worldwide by creating the vaccine,” the former president told the crowd during the live interview.

Trump added that the situation would have been like the Spanish flu without the vaccine.

“We should take credit for it,” he said.

According to NBC 5 News, after the clip of Trump telling the crowd that he got the booster shot went viral on Twitter, the spokesman for COVID-19 communications from the Biden administration’s U.S. Department of Health and Human Services retweeted the video with a quote that reads, “Be like President Trump, and get your booster shot.”
