A murder suspect wanted in connection with a woman’s death in Plano was shot and killed by police officers in Euless on July 10, one day after the victim was discovered dead in an apartment near a popular shopping center.
The deadly confrontation ended a brief manhunt that began when Plano police found the woman’s body on July 9 and issued a murder warrant for the suspect. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted Plano and Euless police in the search for the suspect.
Officers located the suspect’s vehicle as it pulled into a Euless apartment complex in the 1200 block of Fuller Wiser Road, where the situation quickly escalated. The officers initiated a traffic stop utilizing emergency lights, and the suspect pulled over into a parking spot, according to Euless Police Department spokesperson Tyler Killman.
When officers from both the Euless and Plano police departments attempted to make contact, the suspect immediately “posed a threat to the officers,” and gunfire was exchanged. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers or civilians were injured, Killman said.
Video footage taken at the scene shows the suspect’s vehicle riddled with bullet holes on both the driver and passenger sides.
The original homicide occurred near the Legacy West shopping center in Plano, a bustling retail district that draws thousands of visitors daily. Police have not released the identities of either the victim or the suspect.
The officer-involved shooting followed a swift investigation that authorities pursued across multiple jurisdictions. Plano police continue investigating the original homicide case involving the deceased woman.
No law enforcement officers or bystanders sustained injuries during the exchange of gunfire. The incident remains under investigation by multiple agencies.
