Dallas will lower flags at all city facilities to half-staff from Monday through Wednesday to honor victims of the recent Central Texas flooding.
The memorial gesture, announced by city officials, specifically recognizes those lost in Kerr County and other parts of Central Texas.
The tribute reflects the City of Dallas’ solidarity with communities impacted by the disaster. Mayor Eric L. Johnson requested the action, which City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert then implemented.
Flags will fly at half-staff beginning the morning of Monday, July 7, and remain lowered through Wednesday, July 9.
Normal flag protocols will resume Thursday, July 10, when flags return to full staff. The three-day observance follows standard memorial practices for honoring disaster victims.
The directive applies to all City-operated facilities in Dallas, including municipal buildings, parks, and other government properties.
