Dallas residents are once again dealing with porch pirates disrupting package delivery throughout the city, though some claim that these incidents are misunderstandings.

One resident posted a video on the Ring Neighborhood app to show a porch pirate rummaging through packages to steal.

In the video, a woman wearing a black and white shirt with black pants can be seen looking through various packages on the porch before walking away with one of the items.

“Anyone know this person? They stole one of the packages and left the other,” wrote the original poster.

Many residents from the area rallied around the initial neighbor, with one comment claiming that porch pirates “are so bold now.”

“The[y] could careless [sic] about these cameras. Sad!” continued the resident.

The audacity to commit these thefts in front of a camera was a major topic, with another resident writing that “people are so bold with their thievery.”

They took the biggest pkg bc they probably thought it had better stuff to sale [sic],” wrote another comment.

Despite the video, two residents defended the person who allegedly stole a package from the front porch.

“It looks like she has a receipt in her hand and the map app up on her phone. I bet it was a mistaken delivery that she recovered,” stated one comment.

“Yeah, that looks like she was recovering her package from a misdelivery and not stealing one,” wrote another.

While this incident may have been an accident, there appears to have been an increase in the number of porch pirates and other crimes throughout the city.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Dallas residents have been speaking out about the lack of package safety in the area, with many posting videos to the Ring Neighborhood app to document alleged crimes.

Additionally, crimes such as attempted break-ins and vehicle robberies have persisted throughout the city.
