On Monday morning in Ellis County, a fatal accident closed down Interstate 45.
Police reported that the crash occurred around 3 am, close to the exit for Palmer. A woman driving an SUV crossed over the median, colliding with an 18-wheeler head-on.
Police confirmed that the woman died after being ejected from the SUV, but did not release any further details.
All lanes of traffic reopened around 6:30 am after burning debris was cleared from both sides of the freeway.
