“Texas is in a stronger place today because of the conservative steps forward we’ve taken since I’ve been in office, but it hasn’t been without a huge effort. It’s clear that our state will only be as conservative to the extent we are willing to fight for it. As a Senator I will continue to show up to battle for Texans, standing firmly by the principles and promises I have made and kept,” Schatzline said in his press release.
Schatzline’s campaign launch was met with endorsements from several conservative leaders, including Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn, former Commissioner Matt Krause, and District Clerk Tom Wilder.
He was also endorsed by North Richland Hills Mayor Jack McCarty, Keller Mayor Armin Mizani, and Haslet Mayor Gary Halsey.
According to the press release, Schatzline has served as a pastor and spiritual leader for over 13 years, founding For Liberty & Justice, an organization aimed at mobilizing churches to pursue political and cultural reform. He also serves on the board of The Justice Reform, an anti-human trafficking nonprofit based in Fort Worth.
Schatzline and his wife, Adrienne, live in Fort Worth with their three children.
