According to jail records, Steger was booked into the Denton County Jail on May 26. He faces charges for unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading arrest with a vehicle, and driving while intoxicated. Steger posted bond and was released on May 31.

The Carrollton Police Department requested the Lewisville Police Department’s help to “locate a stolen vehicle” last seen in Lewisville. Lewisville officers found the vehicle, but the suspect fled.

“LPD officers initiated a pursuit that demanded sharp focus, exceptional coordination, and quick decision making,” the Facebook post reads. “Despite the risks, they stayed on course and ultimately helped bring the situation to a safe resolution.”

The pursuit concluded in Dallas, where the suspect pulled into a parking lot. A canine unit soon found and arrested Steger.

“We’re proud of our men and women in blue who face danger head on to keep our community and surrounding ones safe,” the post reads. “Their actions are a powerful reminder of the dedication and bravery it takes to wear the badge.”

The Dallas Express also contacted Carrollton police, but did not hear back in time for publication.
