The deadly start to summer in Dallas continued early Saturday morning, when another person was killed and a second injured in a shooting in the southeastern part of the city.

Dallas Police responded to a shooting call around 1:55 a.m. on June 22 in the 3100 block of Dusty Oak Drive. According to the department’s preliminary investigation, two people were shot at the location. One died at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the second victim to a hospital in stable condition. That person has since been released.

The incident is being investigated under case number 088562-2025. No suspect information has been released at this time.

Homicide Count Now at 12 for June

As The Dallas Express previously reported, Dallas saw 11 homicides between June 1 and June 20, with six arrests made and four cases still unsolved. The fatal shooting on Dusty Oak Drive marks the 12th known homicide in the city this month.
