The Dallas Police Department seized several firearms and a variety of drugs in a recent bust.
After a lengthy investigation, Dallas police arrested three suspects, confiscating drugs, guns, and money, according to a press release. Lt. Tramese Jones told The Dallas Express the arrests and seizures took place on June 12.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Christopher Springfield, 31-year-old Saray Portillo, and 40-year-old Jamie Solorzano, the release said. Police confiscated five guns, “multiple cell phones,” $7,171 in currency, and “drug paraphernalia.”
Dallas police also seized 21.6 grams of fentanyl – enough to kill 10,800 people, and 408.9 grams of cocaine – enough to kill 340 people. They also captured 263.8 grams of methamphetamine, 43.8 grams of marijuana, 5.8 grams of oxycodone, and 1.5 grams of heroin.
Springfield faces four first-degree felony counts of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and one second-degree count, according to the release. Solorzano faces two third-degree felony charges for the same. Portillo faces a third-degree felony count for tampering with or fabricating evidence.
All suspects were taken to the Dallas County Jail, according to Jones.
Springfield and Portillo had “prior narcotics offenses in Dallas County,” but Solorzano had no prior offenses in the area, Jones said. “There are no known gang or cartel connections. There are no more arrests expected from this investigation.”
Dallas police detectives began a “narcotics investigation” near 4900 East Side Avenue in Dallas in September 2024, according to the release.
“This extensive investigation led to the execution of a search warrant and the discovery of narcotics and evidence for additional investigations,” the release reads.
In March of this year, detectives with Place Network Investigations (PNI) connected the initial location to others near 4900 Terry Street and 8500 Park Lane in northeast Dallas, the release said. These other locations were “being used to store and sell narcotics.”
DPD has incorporated PNI into its Violent Crime Reduction Plan. Place Network Investigations detectives focus on identifying and disrupting “networks of criminogenic places that disproportionately contribute to violent crime in Dallas.”
Officers searched the Terry Street location, according to the release, where they found guns, “drugs packaged for distributional evidence of illegal drug paraphernalia.” Police also searched the Park Lane location, where they confiscated a handgun and more “narcotics packaged for distribution.”
Dallas police said the “successful operation” resulted from the hard work and collaboration between various law enforcement units, including the PNI Task Force, the Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force, the Central Patrol Crime Response Team, unmanned aircraft systems, SWAT, and the ACT Team.
